ACT Release Bearings
69 products
ACT’s release bearings are direct replacements for the bearing that works the pressure plate’s diaphragm spring every time the clutch pedal goes down. Each has an RB part number and is made for a particular gearbox and clutch combination, so there is no grade or material to choose between. The right part number is the whole decision.
Fitment is attached to most of them, led by Toyota, then Honda, Nissan and Mazda, with Ford, Mitsubishi, Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, Suzuki and Subaru among the others. For the rest, the product details carry the application, and a spacer for a particular clutch kit is listed alongside the bearings.
A release bearing is normally replaced with the clutch, because it can only be reached by removing the gearbox. A bearing that starts to whine or rumble later means doing the job twice. If you are changing to an ACT pressure plate, check that the bearing suits the plate and the release system.
With the gearbox out, look at the release fork and its pivot for wear, grease the input shaft splines lightly, and fit a new pilot bearing if the crankshaft uses one.
