Other Interior Parts guide
Other Interior Parts gathers cabin items that sit outside the larger groups: a universal DIN instrument panel, a footrest, document pockets, a spare wheel holder and a shift boot. Each solves a small practical job, from mounting gauges to keeping a co-driver braced and the paperwork within reach.
In a hard stop or a roll, anything loose in the cabin keeps moving at the speed the car was doing until it hits something. A spare wheel, a folder or a stray bracket can then strike the crew, so everything in a competition car’s cabin should be fixed down. Most parts here exist to do exactly that, or to put something where it can be used without stretching.
What the section holds:
- Instrument panel: a universal panel in the standard DIN format, for adding gauges or switches where a radio once sat.
- Footrest: gives the passenger or co-driver a solid place to brace the feet, so the body stays back in the seat under braking.
- Document pockets: folder pockets in 230 × 400 mm and 230 × 250 mm hold road books, time cards or notes within reach.
- Spare wheel holder: secures a spare wheel so it cannot shift in a crash.
- Shift boot: a suede-like microfibre boot, listed for one model, that closes the gap around the gear lever.
Listed colours are black and silver. Fix every item with bolts and large washers or rivet nuts rather than self-tapping screws, and check them after each event. Mount the footrest so the co-driver’s knees stay slightly bent, and place pockets where they cannot foul the harness or a door bar. Run gauge wiring through grommets and protect it with a fuse.
