EBC 2-Piece Brake Rotors

    EBC 2-Piece Brake Rotors guide

EBC splits its two-piece discs into SG2F and SG2FC, and the difference is what the car has now. SG2F discs are direct replacements for cars that already use two-piece, pin-drive discs from the factory. SG2FC discs are conversions: they take the place of an original one-piece disc and, in EBC’s words, work with the original caliper and pads without modification.

Both share the same construction. A slotted cast-iron friction ring with curved internal vanes floats on stainless bobbins, each with an anti-rattle spring clip, on a hard-anodised aluminium bell. Because the vanes curve, the rings are handed, and EBC sells the discs as an axle pair, left and right together. Most listings are for the front axle, with some rears, and diameters run from 330 to 400 mm. A handful are listed with ECE R90 approval.

Listings with fitment are led by Audi, chiefly the R8, then BMW (the M2 and the M3 and M4 generations) and the Nissan GT-R (R35), with Dodge, Chevrolet, Ford and Porsche next. Before any hard use, bed the discs and pads in with a run of moderate stops.
