    QSP Bends guide

QSP’s bends section combines silicone hose bends with aluminium ones. The silicone bends come at 45, 90, 135 or 180 degrees, in bores between 6.5 and 152 mm, in black or blue. The maker gives a temperature range of -60 °C to +180 °C and a reinforced wall of 4 to 5 mm.

Several variants suit particular jobs. There are XL versions, hump hoses whose hump takes up movement and small differences in alignment, and T-bends with a 19 mm branch for a coolant or breather take-off. A few bends in 51 and 57 mm are made petrol and oil resistant, for fuel, breather and oil lines, where standard silicone is not suitable.

The aluminium bends are 6061 tube, 1.5 mm thick, from 32 to 102 mm, at the same angles, in black or silver, and QSP lists them for coolant and air. Joined with straight silicone hose and clamps, they make up intercooler or radiator pipework.

Choose the silicone bend’s bore to suit the pipe it slides over. Where two pipes of different sizes meet, a reducer is a neater fix than stretching a bend.
