K&N Filter Clamp-On Air Filters

K&N’s clamp-on filters are universal: each fits over an intake pipe or throttle body neck and is held by a hose clamp around a moulded rubber flange. K&N states that the flange can be stretched by up to 1.5 mm (1/16 in) to fit an in-between size. The titles carry only the part number, so start from a known K&N number or from the flange diameter your intake needs.

Beyond size, the range divides by media and top. Most filters use K&N’s oiled cotton element. The black filters use DryFlow, an oil-free synthetic media that is washed with K&N’s synthetic cleaner instead of being re-oiled. X-Stream filters add a second element inside the top, for more filter area within the same outside dimensions.

Wherever the filter sits, leave clear space around it so air can reach the whole element, and shield it from exhaust and turbo heat if it is in the engine bay. Clean it before it clogs, and re-oil a cotton filter sparingly after washing.
