K&N Filter Cold Air Intakes guide
Almost every K&N intake here is sold as a Performance Air Intake System, so the part-number prefix is what tells the families apart. The 57-series kits are the most numerous. The 69-series Typhoon kits use a mandrel-bent aluminium tube, and the 63-series AirCharger kits replace both the factory filter and its housing. The 77-series pairs an aluminium tube with an oiled cotton filter. The 71-series Blackhawk Induction kits use a black powder-coated tube, a steel heat shield and an oil-free synthetic filter, and the 30-series DRYFLOW kits also run a dry filter. A few universal systems, including a shielded 54-series kit, complete the page.
Some kits exist in several versions that differ only in the letters at the end of the part number, so compare the product details of each before choosing.
The filter type decides the servicing. Oiled cotton elements are washed and re-oiled with K&N’s service kit, which is listed under Filter Cleaning Products, while the dry synthetic filters are washed without oil. The kits do not appear when you shop by vehicle, so work from the engine and model years in each kit’s details.
