K&N Filter Cabin Air Filters guide
K&N’s cabin filters replace the pollen filter in a car’s heating and ventilation system, and like its engine filters they are made to be washed and reused rather than thrown away. Each is listed as a Cabin Air Filter with a VF part number. The number is the only identifier on the page, so take it from K&N’s application list or from a K&N filter already in the car.
Most numbers fall in the VF2000 series, with smaller VF1000 and VF3000 groups and a few VF4000, VF5000 and VF8000 filters.
Cleaning works differently from an engine filter. K&N’s cabin filter care kit, listed under Filter Cleaning Products, pairs a cleaner with a refresher spray that K&N says increases the filter’s electrostatic properties. The oil used on K&N engine filters is not part of this process.
The filters are not tagged with vehicles on the site. When changing one, note the airflow arrow on the old filter and fit the new one the same way round, and clear leaves and dust from the housing while it is open.
