Girodisc Brake Pads
96 products
Girodisc’s pads are the GP series, all semi-metallic, with each listing covering the pads for one axle. GP10 is the compound graded sport, and the higher GP numbers are race compounds.
GP10 suits a car that is driven on the road and taken on track now and then: Girodisc describes it as smooth and quiet when cold, and says a car that spends more time on track than on the road should step up to GP30 or GP40. GP30, and some GP35 pads, are named as endurance compounds, and GP40 is described for racing with ABS still active. GP20 and GP50 appear in only a few sizes, and a small ‘S/S’ Performance line is also graded sport.
The listings follow the brand’s discs towards high-performance cars. Porsche, Audi, Chevrolet and Ferrari have the most, with Cadillac, Subaru, Lamborghini, BMW and McLaren also well represented.
A race compound needs temperature before it works as intended, which a short road journey rarely provides, so weigh how much of the car’s use is on circuit. When changing compound, clean the old pad material off the discs, or fit new discs, and bed the new pads in.
