ACT
ACT, short for Advanced Clutch Technology, is an American clutch maker. Its range here covers the whole clutch assembly: complete kits, clutch discs, pressure plates, flywheels, release bearings and the small parts in between.
The discs show how the range is organised. Street discs come sprung or rigid, and race discs use four-pad or six-pad designs, again sprung or rigid. Pressure plates are listed as Heavy Duty or Xtreme and the XACT flywheels as Streetlite or Prolite, and twin-disc and Mod-Twin kits are listed as well.
The listings favour Japanese cars. Honda leads, followed by Mazda, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru. The Honda Civic and CRX, Mazda RX-7 and Toyota Supra (A80) have especially wide coverage.
Elsewhere in the Transmission & Clutch section, other brands supply shifters and linkages. ACT is the brand for the clutch itself. Discs, pressure plates and flywheels are also sold on their own, so you can replace a single worn part without buying a full kit.

Description
3000504 is a performance street disc and the most popular disc purchased. It features premium organic materials with high copper content for better heat transfer. Performance street discs allow for quicker shifting and smooth engagement. These discs feature a reduced marcel for faster shift action to complement ACT pressure plates. ACT spring-centered assemblies use bushings and cone springs similar to factory clutch discs. This creates frictional dampening, which improves clutch life and reduces noise. Quiet operation with increased strength and reliability.
Feel:
Smooth engagement, quicker shifts, OE to mild gear rattle
Life:
Premium organic composite friction blended for high heat tolerance, increased burst strength, faster recovery from overheating and less wear of mating surfaces
Quality:
Spring retainers feature heat-treated wraparound spring windows that provide support and reduce stress concentrations that are common causes for failure
Recommendation:
Recommended for street and race use
Difference:
Steel-backed linings for higher burst strength, reduced marcel for quicker shifts
