Straight Flow V-Band Connectors & Clamps

Straight Flow’s range here is exhaust joints for fabricated systems, and it covers most of the usual ways to join pipe. V-band connectors are male and female flange sets in 304 stainless steel, from 38 mm (1.5 in) to 127 mm (5 in). Cone-and-cup connectors in 409 stainless steel, from 40 to 89 mm, make a joint that accepts a slight angle. For pipe-to-pipe clamping there are O-band stainless clamps, stainless 2-bolt pipe connectors, stainless U-clamps with M8 threads, aluminium clamps and SEC clamps, each listed by the pipe diameter it suits.

Choose by the joint first. A V-band gives a flanged joint that is quick to undo, which suits turbo outlets, downpipes and any section that comes off often, but the flanges have to be welded to the pipe ends. Clamps and 2-bolt connectors hold slip-fit pipes without welding, and a cone-and-cup joint helps where sections do not line up exactly.

Size everything by the pipe’s outside diameter, not its bore, and allow for the flange or overlap length when you cut the pipe.
