Straight Flow Bends

Straight Flow’s bends come in two materials for two jobs. The aluminium elbows, from 30 to 102 mm, have long 50 cm legs and suit intake and intercooler pipework, where the bend is joined with hoses and clamps. The stainless steel parts are for exhaust work and split into universal elbows, at angles from 30 to 90 degrees, and short corners at 45 or 90 degrees.
The titles give diameter and angle together, so D-63/90 is a 63 mm, 90-degree elbow. Stainless parts cover 40 to 101 mm and aluminium 30 to 102 mm. The 45, 60 and 90-degree angles are available across most sizes in both materials; 180-degree bends are aluminium only.
Where it matters, a few corners also state the wall thickness, which is worth comparing with the pipe you are joining when you plan to weld.
Aluminium is not suited to exhaust temperatures, so keep it to the cold side of the engine. On an exhaust, tack the stainless sections in place and check the clearance to the floor and heat shields before the final weld.
