Straight Flow Flexible Pipes

Straight Flow’s flexible sections come in several constructions, and each title gives the size as diameter then length, so 50-150 is a 50 mm pipe 150 mm long. Inner braid pipes have a braided liner and run from 45 to 64 mm in diameter. SuperFlex pipes, whose sizes end in ss, span 45 to 100 mm, and the interlock pipes go furthest, from 45 up to 127 mm and in lengths up to 400 mm.

Short flexible pipe connectors complete the section, from 38 to 76 mm, in 409 stainless steel.

Choose the construction and size by where the joint sits. A flexible section is there to take up engine rocking and vibration, so that the rest of the exhaust and its hangers are not stressed. It should be fitted straight, without bending or twisting it, and not used to make up for pipes that do not line up.

Measure the gap between the pipe ends and choose a length that fills it without compressing the section. Weld or clamp only at the plain ends, never on the flexible part, and keep the braid away from sharp edges.
