About the brand

Girodisc

Girodisc is an American maker of two-piece floating brake discs, and those discs make up most of its range here. Each disc pairs an aluminium hat with a separate iron friction ring joined by floating bobbins. Both complete assemblies and replacement rings are listed, so a worn ring can be renewed without buying a new hat. The rings are curved-slot, vented and sold as left or right parts.

Around the discs sit caliper rebuild and dust boot kits, drive pin and caliper stud kits, titanium backing plates and GP-series pads. GP10 is listed as a sport pad, and GP30, GP35 and GP40 as race compounds.

The listings concentrate on high-performance cars. Porsche leads, with the 911 from the 996 to the 992, the Cayman and the Boxster. Chevrolet, Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Mercedes-Benz follow, with Ford, BMW, McLaren and Subaru among the others.

Most disc ranges on TrackToolFactory are one-piece. Girodisc is the main source here for a two-piece floating disc sold to replace the existing disc, rather than as part of a big brake kit.

Description

GP10-4008.17 – GiroDisc GP10 Racing Brake Pads The GP10 compound is a high-performance street pad which is designed to have a smooth bite and make minimal noise at cold temperatures. It can be taken on track if you truly need a pad that does it all. However, please note that if your car spends more time on track than the street, we would recommend stepping up to a full race pad like the GP30 or GP40.
