AEM Coupler – AEM-5-275

AEM was founded in California in 1987 by John Concialdi and Bob Sullivan. Its range here is induction: cold air intake systems, short ram intakes, Brute Force intake systems, DryFlow replacement panel filters, charge pipe kits and couplers. There are also a few universal clamp-on filters, filter wraps, filter cleaner and strut bars.

The DryFlow filters use a washable synthetic media that runs without oil, so servicing means washing and drying the element rather than re-oiling it.

When choosing an intake, the main split is between two designs. A cold air intake moves the filter away from engine heat, often low in the bay or into the wing. A short ram intake keeps a short path close to the throttle body. AEM listings are organised by part number, not by car, so start from that number or the application given in the product details.

Next to the larger oiled-cotton filter range here, AEM is the choice if you prefer a dry filter. Its intake line-up also adds short ram and Brute Force designs to the usual cold air kits.
