Turbosmart Turbo Gaskets

Turbosmart’s parts in this section are nearly all weld flanges, the machined rings that let its valves be welded into a manifold, a dump pipe or a charge pipe. The largest group suits its external wastegates, from WG38 to WG60, with inlet and outlet flanges sold separately.

Material is the main choice for the wastegate flanges: steel, stainless steel, alloy or titanium, depending on the size and the side. Match the flange to the pipework it is welded into, since titanium only welds to titanium and aluminium alloy only to aluminium.

Other flanges suit Turbosmart’s ALV anti-lag valves, with outlet flanges in 2-1, 4-1, 5-1 and 6-1 layouts, and its BoostGate50 electronic charge air control valve, in aluminium or stainless steel. Adapter flanges let a WG45 or WG60 mounting take a StraightGate50, and the stainless manifold gaskets for the WG38 come as a pair.

Tack the flange in place with the valve bolted to it, so it sits square, before the final weld. Make sure the outlet flange points the dump pipe where you want it to run.
