ARP Cams & Sprockets

    38 products

ARP’s camshaft hardware splits by engine design. On pushrod engines the kits hold the cam gear or sprocket to the camshaft, with a retention plate kit where the engine uses one. On overhead-cam engines the main items are cam tower kits, studs or bolts that hold the cam carriers to the head, alongside cam sprocket bolts and bolts for cam phasers and drives.

The kits are 8740 chrome moly and listed by engine. The product data gives the thread and the socket size for many of them. That is worth checking, because some cam bolts use metric threads and others imperial, and several need a 12-point socket.

Cam tower studs are often fitted while the head is apart for springs, valves or camshafts, since the carriers have to come off anyway. On engines with variable cam timing, the phaser bolts hold the timing parts to the camshaft, so the kit is usually renewed whenever the phasers are disturbed.

Apply the thread treatment specified for each kit, torque the bolts in the maker’s sequence, and check the valve timing by hand before the engine is started. No kit is linked to a vehicle.
