KW Lowering Springs

    KW Lowering Springs guide

KW’s entries in this category are height-adjustable spring kits rather than fixed lowering springs. The one listing with a full description is a KW HAS kit: progressive-rate springs combined with height-adjustable spring perches on both axles. The kit is used with the car’s original dampers, and the ride height is set within the approved range. Every other KW part number here belongs to the same series, although those listings give only the application.

That application text is where the choice is made. Many cars are split into versions with and without electronically controlled dampers, whether the car maker calls the system DRC, Magnetic Ride, PDCC or PASM. Others are split by drivetrain, as 2WD, quattro, 4Matic or xDrive, or by front axle load. Pick the version that matches the car’s equipment exactly, because each is listed separately.

Audi has by far the most listings, followed by Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche, with Jaguar, Seat, Volkswagen and Nissan also covered.

Once fitted, the adjusters make it easy to trim the stance. Set both sides of each axle to the same height, and have the alignment checked when the height is final.
