ARP Oil Pump & Priming Components

ARP’s oil pump components are the parts that drive, mount and prime the pump, each made for one engine family. Oil pump driveshafts replace the original shaft that turns the pump; one version is for a block with a deck 0.400 in taller than standard. Oil pump stud and bolt kits hold the pump in place, including kits for high-volume pumps, and a pump-to-pickup stud kit secures the pickup. A few oil pan bolt kits for the same engines are listed here as well.

The primer kits are tools rather than fasteners. Fitted in place of the distributor and turned with a drill, they spin the pump so that oil reaches the bearings and the top of the engine before a rebuilt engine is first started.

Choose a driveshaft by engine and by any change in pump height, and the fasteners by head style, 12-point or hex, with stainless steel offered on several kits. After fitting a new driveshaft, check that it engages fully at both ends before the sump goes on, because a shaft that slips out of engagement stops the oil supply.
