K&N Filter
K&N was founded in 1969 in Riverside, California, by Ken Johnson and Norm McDonald, the K and the N of the name. Its filters use washable, reusable oiled cotton gauze, cleaned and re-oiled with a service kit rather than thrown away, and the range here is built on them.
It covers replacement panel filters, complete Performance Air Intake Systems, universal clamp-on, round and conical filters, cabin air filters, crankcase breather filters, carburettor filters and fuel filters. The cleaning and oiling kits, foam wraps, top plates and clips that go with them are listed too.
K&N parts are listed by part number and filter type rather than by car. If you are replacing a K&N filter, its part number is the quickest route; for a universal filter, work from the neck diameter and the space available.
Among the intake brands on TrackToolFactory, K&N has the broadest mix of filter types, from engine and cabin air to breathers, carburettors and fuel. If you prefer a filter that is washed without oil, another panel filter range here uses dry synthetic media.

Description
The K&N Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. In addition to more power, this air intake system improves engine sound with more aggressive and deeper acoustics during acceleration. The air intake comes with a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the original air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine's turbo inlet for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive textured black powder-coated finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a couple of screwdrivers, a ratchet set and some wrenches. ach vehicle and air intake.
