K&N was founded in 1969 in Riverside, California, by Ken Johnson and Norm McDonald, the K and the N of the name. Its filters use washable, reusable oiled cotton gauze, cleaned and re-oiled with a service kit rather than thrown away, and the range here is built on them.
It covers replacement panel filters, complete Performance Air Intake Systems, universal clamp-on, round and conical filters, cabin air filters, crankcase breather filters, carburettor filters and fuel filters. Description
The K&N 57-9008 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Toyota 4 Runner and Pickup models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The 57-9008 air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter that installs onto the factory mass air sensor and directs air into the engine's throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 60 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points requiring commonly available tools to do the job.
