Window Visors for Honda Civic EK

    Window Visors guide

Window visors, also called wind deflectors, are smoked plastic mouldings along the top of the side windows. They let you keep a window slightly open in rain or at speed with less draught and noise, and they help air a parked car. The range covers front sets, front and rear sets and rear roof visors.

With the glass lowered a little, the visor’s lip covers the gap and turns the passing air, so rain runs past rather than in. The flow over the lip also lowers the pressure at the opening, which draws stale air out of the cabin. A rear roof visor is a different part: it overhangs the top of the rear screen, shades it and extends the roofline like a small spoiler.

    Three points narrow the choice:

    • Coverage: front sets for the front doors, front and rear sets for four-door cars, and rear roof visors for the rear screen.
    • Model and body: each set follows the window frames of one model generation, named in the title with the door count where it matters.
    • Tint: a smoke tint shades the top of the glass while keeping the view through it.

Depending on the design, visors clip into the window channel or bond to the door frame with adhesive tape. For tape, clean the frame with alcohol, fit at room temperature and press the visor firmly along its length. In-channel visors can make one-touch windows reverse until the seal beds in, and the window may need re-initialising.

On the front doors, make sure the visor leaves the view to the exterior mirror clear. Check that a rear roof visor leaves the high-level brake light in view. Wash visors by hand with mild soap, as solvents and harsh polishes can craze the plastic.
