    Car Care guide

Car care in this section centres on preparation: a 400 ml brake caliper cleaner and a foam cleaner that belongs to the interior colour spray range. Both remove the dirt, grease and old dressings that stop new paint or colour from bonding.

Paint bonds to the surface it touches, not to the dirt on it. Brake dust holds metal particles and binders that bake onto a hot caliper, while interior plastics carry silicone dressings, skin oils and dust. A damp cloth only moves that film around, and anything left behind shows up later as fisheyes, peeling edges or patchy colour.

Each cleaner has its own job:

    • Brake caliper cleaner: a solvent spray that strips brake dust, grease and oil from calipers and brackets before lacquer goes on, then evaporates.
    • Foam cleaner: a foam for interior surfaces that lifts dirt and dressings before interior colour spray is applied.

Use the caliper cleaner on a cold brake, ideally with the wheel off, and do not let it soak the rubber seals. Let it evaporate fully, then mask the disc, pads and seals before painting. Test the foam cleaner on a hidden area of trim first and wipe it off with a clean, lint-free cloth.

Solvent sprays are flammable and their vapour is harmful, so work in good ventilation, away from sparks and flames, and wear gloves. Store the cans away from heat and direct sun.
