BMW 1 Series E82 Brake System

The E82 coupé’s engines range from the 118d to the 135i and the 1M, and brake sizes vary between them. Front discs are 300 mm for the 120i, 120d and 125i, 312 mm for the 118d and 330 mm for the 123d. The 135i has 338 mm at the front with a 324 mm rear, and the 1M 360 mm, so the engine decides the disc.

Pads are listed engine by engine too. For the 135i they run from EBC Ultimax and Hawk HPS for the road to Hawk DTC-70, Ferodo DS3000 and Pagid RSL 29 on the track. Ferodo’s DS2500 is the sport grade in between.

Replacement discs are listed in EBC’s plain, USR and BSD slotted and dimpled patterns, in DBA’s T2 and T3 versions and as Hawk Talon discs. Girodisc has floating two-piece versions for the coupé too.
