BMW 1 Series E82 Brake Pads

Pads for the E82 coupé are listed axle by axle and engine by engine, from the 118d and 120i up to the 1M and 135i. Start from the engine named in each listing’s fitment.

The compound in each listing tells you how a pad is made. EBC’s Ultimax and Greenstuff pads are organic, its Redstuff ceramic, and its Yellowstuff, RP-1 and RP-X para-aramid. Hawk’s pads are semi-metallic apart from the ceramic PC, Ferodo’s DS range is semi-metallic throughout, and PBS ProRace is a ceramic graphite pad.

Hawk also prints a temperature range for many of its compounds. The HP Plus, a sport pad, is quoted at 37 to 430 °C, while the DTC-60 race pad runs from 205 to 870 °C, with an optimal band of 370 to 595 °C.
