QSP Heat Shielding
88 products
QSP’s heat shielding comes in several forms, each for a different part of the car. Sleeves protect hoses, wiring and lines: heat-resistant covers sold by the metre in bores from 10 to 100 mm, split versions with a Velcro closure that go on without disconnecting anything, aluminium-faced fibreglass covers, and a longer insulation tube.
Tape and wrap go around exhaust pipes and manifolds. The Titanium Heat Band is made from basalt fibre, and there are ceramic and Cobra heat tapes as well as reflective tapes in gold and silver.
Mats line bulkheads, floors and tunnels, in 250 × 500, 500 × 500 and 1,000 × 1,000 mm sheets, silver or gold, with self-adhesive versions. For the turbo itself there are turbo guards for 51 to 102 mm compressor inlets and insulation blankets for T3 and T4 turbine housings.
Choose reflective material where the heat is radiated across a gap, and insulating wrap or sleeving where a part touches or sits very close to the heat source. Wrapping keeps exhaust heat in the pipe, which can shorten the life of thin mild steel pipe. Leave sensors and joints uncovered and accessible.
