BMW 3 Series E46 Suspension

E46 suspension parts are listed for the saloon, Touring, coupé, convertible and Compact, and separately for the all-wheel-drive xi and xd models and for the M3 and M3 CSL. Those groups take springs and coilovers of their own, so check that a set names your model before looking at brands.

Bilstein covers dampers from B4 standard replacements to its B6 and B8 sport lines, and several front struts are sold for one side only, so order a left and a right. Koni adds STR.T dampers and a Special Active unit. Original-height springs come from Bilstein’s B3 range and Eibach’s ERL line.

To lower the car, choose between springs alone, kits that add matched dampers (B12 kits, a Cup Kit from H&R, or AP and ST kits chosen by engine) and coilovers. H&R’s twin-tube coilovers come in four-cylinder and six-cylinder versions, and ST’s XTA and KW’s V3 and V4 Clubsport sit at the adjustable end of the range.
