QSP Straight Hoses

QSP’s straight hoses are sold as lengths to cut to size, mostly 1 m, with 50 cm lengths in several of the larger bores. Standard silicone hose runs from 5 mm up to 152 mm inside diameter, in black or blue. The listings give a working pressure for each size, a wall thickness of 4 to 5 mm and a temperature range of -60 to +180 °C. They name coolant and air as the uses, so this is the hose for cooling, boost and intake runs.

For fuel or oil, use the lines marked petrol and oil resistant. They come in 8 to 25 mm by the metre and in 51 or 57 mm as 50 cm lengths, again in black or blue. Standard silicone hose is not meant to carry fuel or oil.

The rest of the category is plastic intake hardware for feeding cold air to a filter: air intakes from 51 to 76 mm, and air inlets with square, rectangular or twin connections, some in transparent plastic.

Cut silicone hose square with a sharp blade rather than a saw, and on boost pipes choose clamps sized closely to the hose’s outside diameter.
